Jammu and Kashmir is known as the paradise on earth for its amazing landscape and scenic beauty. 1. Dal Lake


Dal lake, the iconic destination of the Kashmir valley, is one of the most beautiful lakes of India. It is a Himalayan urban lake with five basins and a number of channels that are linked with each other. With sparkling quiet waters surrounded by snow-capped mountains on its three sides, Dal Lake has rightfully become an icon of the Kashmir tourism industry. It is also the second largest lake in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir with numerous gardens and orchards all along its shores.

2. Pangong Lake


The Pangong Lake, also known as Pangong Tso, is one of the salient features of ladakh. Spread over an area of about 600 square kilometers, Pangong Lake is 40 miles in length and nearly 5 kilometers in width at its broadest point. At a height of 4267 meters above the sea level, the Pangong Lake extends from Ladakh to China and two thirds of the length of this lake lies in Tibet. The alluring beauty of the lake and its natural scenic views make it seem like a landscape painted. Its enduring to see how the lake changes colors every season due to its salinity.

3. Tsomoriri Lake


Picturesquely situated in secluded, breathtakingly beautiful Rupshu Valley, the high-altitude Tso Moriri Lake is fewer than 250 kilometers southeast of Leh. Tsomoriri Lake is another jewel in the crown of Ladakh situated at an altitude of 4,511 meters above sea level. The lake remains frozen in the winter from December until March. It forms the floor of a huge enclosed basin, fed by two main streams, one from the north side and other from the south–west. This landscape hosts extensive areas of wetlands and sheltered bays with small islands. The calmness of the lake is just perfect for meditation.

4. Kashmir Valley


Located between the Karakoram and the Pir Panjal Range in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmir Valley is no doubt the most beautiful destination in India. Kashmir valley is famous for its beautiful mountainous landscape. It is regarded as the Heaven on Earth because of its friendly people, beautiful gardens, vast lakes and pristine streams and stunning landscapes. Kashmir valley is a popular tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists in India.

5. Zanskar Valley


Snuggled between the Great Himalayas to the south and the Zanskar mountains to the north, the Zanskar Valley is one of the most remote places of India. It lies sandwiched between the Kashmir valley and the Lahaul valleys to its south and the Indus valley of Ladakh to its North. Zanskar valley is filled with small hamlets, less population and gorgeous views and with this range you have plenty of chances to start clicking perfect moments. One of the highlights of this is the zanskar river where you could opt for rafting and even go trekking in the months of January and February. During the winter months, the chadar trek, set up on the frozen river comprises of a journey through frozen waterfalls, small sized caves and an entire white landscape all around you.

6. Khardung La Pass


Khardung La Pass is commonly claimed to be the highest motorable pass in the world at an altitude of 18,380 feet. The pass is about 40 km from the town of Leh, and an important destination for those seeking adventure. Hundreds of bikers ride to Leh every year and subsequently to Khardung-La, 52 kilometers from Leh. Adventure seekers come here for a thrilling mountain biking experience and a road trip. The views you get from this amazing mountain pass are just breathtaking.

7. Nubra Valley


Located about 150 kilometers from the town of Leh, Nubra Valley is amongst the greenest valleys in the region. It is also referred to as the valley of flowers, because it is covered with some really beautiful flowers during the summer months. Once dotted with garlands of camel and yak caravans, the romance of the Silk Route still hangs in the air as you cross the formidable Khardung La Pass. A trek through the valley is one of the easier treks in Ladakh, but not any less beautiful.

8. Nagin Lake


Nagin Lake acquired its name from the trees that surrounds it. The lake is a beautiful deep blue colored lake. It is one of the most mesmerizing parts of Dal Lake and is sometimes referred to as jewel in the ring. The lake has a number of houseboats in it. Its surroundings reside in tranquility which is well desired by people in their lives apart from their hectic schedules of daily life. The water of this lake is very much less polluted and hence it is appoint worth mentioning in today’s polluted world.
