Bangkok is a beautiful city in Thailand. It is possibly one of the most beautiful and sought after destinations in Asia. Bangkok's attractions include the dazzling temples, spectacular palaces, world-famous floating market and the colorful Chinatown. The city is home to some of the most amazing Buddhist temples in Asia.

1. The Grand Palace


The Grand Palace is considered as Thailand's most majestic and recognizable landmark. The palace used to be the main residence of precious monarchs. Today, it has become a regular venue for important state and religious functions in Bangkok.

2. Temple of the Emerald Buddha


The temple of the Emerald Buddha is an exquisite and sparkling structure with golden stupas. Located within the Grand Palace compound, the temple houses Thailand's the most holy relic, the 75-centimeter tall Emerald Buddha. It was built in 1782.

3. The Erawan Shrine


The Erawan Shrine is a popular shrine, built in honor of Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. It draws devotees daily from every corner of the globe seeking blessings and good fortunes through dances, incense-burning and floral offerings.

7. Royal Barge Museum


The Royal Barge Museum houses a fleet of royal barges. The barges are used occasionally for special royal ceremonious on the Chao Phrya River. They are long and ornately decorated.

Temple of the Golden Buddha is the home to the largest solid gold Buddha image in the world. It image weighs more than five tons. Located near Chinatown, the temple is one of Bangkok's top tourist attractions.

City Pillar Shrine was erected to mark the founding of Bangkok more than two centuries ago. The shrine draws a daily flock of devotees in colorful costumes who come to present offerings and perform dance rituals.

The Temple of Reclining Buddha is among the most attractive Buddhist temples in Bangkok. It is home to the famous Reclining Buddha. It is considered to be one of the oldest and largest temples in Bangkok.
