The Marbel Cathedral of Lake General Carrera in Patagonia

Located in Patagonia, on the border between Chile and Argentinia, Lake General Carrera is an amazing lake. The lake is spectacular because of its exceptionally blue water. However, the Marble Cathedral in the middle of the lake is even more impressive. The marble caverns offer a spectacular color game in a constant change. This means that your experience will never be the same, even if you travel the cave several times.

The Marble Cathedral is a group of caverns, columns and tunnels formed in monoliths of marble. These unusual geological formations have been formed by wave action over the last 6,200 years. The Marble Cathedral of Lake General Carrera has become one of the most popular travel spot in Chile. One can get to the Marble Cathedral by taking a boat tour from Puerto Tranquillo, Rio Ibanez.
