Iguazu Falls - A Majestic Natural Waterfall in South America

Iguazu Falls are one of the largest waterfalls in the world. They are regarded as one of the most beautiful and majestic natural waterfalls man have ever seen. Taller than Niagara Falls, the Iguazu Falls are four times the width of Niagara Falls. They extend nearly three kilometer in a semi-circular shape.



Iguazu Falls are the result of volcanic eruption. The falls themselves sit on the Iguazu River and span the border between Argentina and Brazil. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. A total number of 275 falls collectively make up Iguazu Falls.



Iguazu Falls are grand waterfalls with a tremendous amount of water (an average of 553 cubic feet per second) thundering down 269 feet. The flow of water may reach 450,000 cubic feet per second during the rainy season. Iguazu Falls are divided by various islands into separate waterfalls. Some of the best known falls are - Devil's Throat, the San Martin, Bossetti, and Bernabe Mendez. Iguazu Falls are one of the most popular natural tourist destinations in South America with sheer natural beauty.
