The building is used as this is the palace of the Louvre museum (Palais de Louvre) which was built in 1190 and has become the stage of completion as the building looks today in 1870. And the museum was first opened on August 10, 1793 with 537 paintings exhibition. In 2008, the collection was divided among eight curatorial departments: Antiquities of Egypt, the Near Eastern Antiquities, Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Antiquities; Islamic Art: Sculpture, Decorative Arts, Paintings, Prints and Pictures.
