Ratargul Swamp Forest is the only swamp forest located in Bangladesh and is one of the few swamp forests in the world. Ratargul Swamp Forest is located in Gowainghat Upozilla under Sylhet District in Bangladesh. The forest is situated by the river Gowain and linked with the canal Chengir Khal. It goes under 20-30 feet water in rainy season and half of the trees of the forest go down water. Rest of the year the water level is about 10 feet deep. However, some part of the forest become dry in winter and you can visit the forest on foot.
