Yosemite Valley - A Freak of Nature in California

Yosemite Valley is a glacial valley in Yosemite National Park in the western Sierra Nevada mountains of California. The famous Yosemite National Park in California covers an area of nearly 3.1 million square kilometers and there are many outstanding points of interest. But Yosemite Valley is generally regarded as the pinnacle of all attractions in the park. Little Yosemite Valley is the most popular area in the Yosemite Wilderness, mainly because it provides easy access to Half Dome.

Carved out by the Merced River, Yosemite Valley is a freak of nature. It is similar to the Songefjord in Norway and has a beautiful stretch of water. Yosemite Valley is towered over by glorious mountains, including famous peaks like the Half Dome and Cloud’s Rest, to name just two of a wide selection of popular mountainous areas. It's only seven miles long and less than a mile wide, but it ranks higher in scenery per square foot than perhaps anywhere else in the world.

Although Yosemite Valley is most famous for the walls that surround it, it is also heaven for waterfalls. Yosemite Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. It is also the highest waterfall in North America. The valley floor itself is also an important part of the valley. The Merced River wanders through it, and meadows appear frequently along its length.
