North Goa is hub of tourist attraction due to various water sports and night life. Like all other tourists, I too put up in a hotel near
Calangute Beach, though I had an urge to visit the less popular but more attractive South Goa Beaches.
As soon as I landed at Calangute, my heart danced to see the view of the Sea and I did not waste a minute to throw my bag-packs in the room for the beach view. Needless to mention, Calangute beach has a number of various hotels from Budget, Mid-Range to High Range hotels. The nearest to the beach being
Calangute Residency - an initiative of Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC).
Though not prepared for a dip yet, I did not forget to soak my feet in the waves. Time passed by just like the waves and when I realised it was 12 noon. We returned to the Hotel, and now prepared ourselves for the official plunge. :-) In the evening, we set out for Coco Beach, Sinquerim Beach and Candolim Beach. Returning back we came to
Calangute Beach. It is the center of all water sports be it during the day or in the late evening. We decided to go for water sports at Baga Beach which is another hub for water sports.

The next day was reserved for the
South Goa beaches, however North Goa never went off my wishlist and I had it planned for the day after. Early in the morning after breakfast, we started with the
Anjuna Beach. Anjuna is a Rocky beach unsuitable for swimming. The beach was more or less empty except for a few localities and Andrea from Russia who was kind enough to take some snap of ours.

Vagator Beach was the next destination. From the top Vagator looks amazing with the cliffs on 1 side and the shore on the other. The beach is split into 2 commonly called as the Big Vagator and the Little Vagator by the rocky cliff.

The
Chapora Fort mostly famous after the Dil Chahta Hain movie can be seen from the top. We didn't dare to go to the Fort as it was too hot a day. We then moved further north towards the
Morgim Beach. It was real fun to walk by the beach as the waves touched our feet. Spending around 10 minutes we decided to go to the next popular beach. Our driver skipped
Mandrem Beach for the return trip.

Yet another name on the list of remote beaches of Goa is the "
Ashwem Beach" which lies to the north of Mandrem Beach. It is a lonely beach and good to relax with some backwaters at the farthest end. Parts of the beach is rocky. Mostly it is also considered to the Sunset Beach.

As it was already noon, we decided to have our lunch at
Arambol Beach and rest there for a couple of hours. There are number of beach shacks to relax. We selected one called
'Laughing Buddha' and decided to have an unconventional Lunch with an Italian Pizza, a chicken burger, french fries, salads, scrambled eggs and 2 bottles of beer. It gave us a good relief both to our belly as well as from the hot sun. We spent nearly 3 hours at Arambol. Having our lunch, we decided to take a walk by the beach from one corner to the other. In and around Arambol, there are lots of cottages, where one can choose to stay. This beach is mostly liked by foreigner since it is far from the rush of the local tourists and one can enjoy the beauty peacefully.

We started at around 4 PM from Arambol to
Baga Beach. As decided we stopped at Mandrem Beach, took some pictures and left for Baga Beach and enjoyed the sunset there. We rented a beach chair for an hour and spent the rest of the time till the sun completely set.

That night we moved with our belonging to a hotel near Baga beach to enjoy the night life. Luckily there was a World Cup 2011 match going on between India and Ireland on that day. We sat in one of the beach shack and watched the match on a giant screen with a bottle of beer and sea food.

Next morning was pretty foggy and after having our breakfast, we decided to have a final plunge in the sea along with watersports at Baga. Among the others sports, we enjoyed jet ski and painted tatoo of a Dolphin in my arm.
But alas!!! it was noon soon and we had to catch flight and leave Goa with the sweet memories in my heart.
LEAVING GOA TO BE BACK AGAIN...
Great blog, waiting for more such blogs.
