Idol host Ryan Seacrest signs $45 million dealReuters - July 13, 2009 3:03 AM PDT

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Ryan Seacrest is Fox's 45-Million-Dollar Man.
The "American Idol" host has closed a major new three-year deal with CKX, parent of "Idol" producer 19 Entertainment, worth $15 million per year.

Under the pact, which is believed to be the richest ever for a reality host, Seacrest will be exclusive to CKX in broadcast TV primetime to host "Idol" or any CKX-produced show that might succeed it.

The pact, which had been in the works for the past several weeks, more than triples his previous salary of slightly less than $5 million per season.

So, a talentless midget of a kiss-ass gets $15 million per year to smile and host a crappy, formulaic talent audition that does nothing but put more crappy, formulaic pop music on my radio?

So, that same talentless midget of a kiss-ass gets a 200% raise in one year when the rest of us are having to face lay-offs or mandated furloughs or decreases in salary (while everything else--from gas prices to health insurance premiums--is still on the rise)?

So, this same huge new financial deal for one single talentless midget of a kiss-ass took place in the same state (California) that is facing a $26 billion budgetary shortfall and is forcing the state to issue IOUs while it tries to rebuild itself?

What have we learned here today, boys and girls?
